Xbox Japan boss Takashi Sensui has told Kotaku that he believes Microsoft’s line-up in Japan means 360’s fortunes in the country are likely to stay on the up and up.
“I see no reason this sales trend won’t continue,” he said. “We have the third party line-up.”
Xbox 360 has now outsold PS3 for four weeks in a row in Japan, and ‘enjoyed’ hardware sell-outs when Tales of Vesperia was released, a situation Xbox production boss Aaron Greenberg said was the real deal.
“Oh, it was totally legit,” he said. “The demand for the console shot up suddenly. How can you plan for that?”
He added: “Everything we’re making, we’re selling straight through. That’s why we’re selling out. The only machines we’re not selling have dents in them or have been accidentally damaged.”
