EA axes plans for new Vancouver dev studio

According to this Globe and Mail report, EA’s shelving plans for a new Vancouver development studio thanks to admitted slow Q4 sales and a generally tough economic environment.

“These are challenging times, they’re uncertain times for our industry and across the board,” said EA spokesman Colin Macrae.

“We continue to be firmly rooted in Vancouver.”

The publisher already operates two studios in the Vancouver area; Black Box is located in downtown Vancouver, while EA Canada operates out of nearby Burnaby.

Existing operations are unaffected. More through there.
