Hooray.

Press release is below.

Turn your PLAYSTATION 3 into a music video jukebox on June 11th – with three solid weeks’ worth of videos from day one!

London, 10th June 2009: VidZone, the revolutionary on-demand music video service for PLAYSTATION 3 from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, is confirmed to go live on Thursday 11th June. VidZone is a brand new, free service that gives you the freedom to view thousands of music videos on demand by streaming them directly to your PS3 and onto your TV screen – complete with Surround Sound.

It’s launching with a bang and it’s packed with a huge library of over 10,000 videos. What does that mean? It means that if you put them all into a single playlist and watched it for 24 hours a day, seven days a week – it would take you three solid weeks to watch it all. And there’s much, much more on the way.

VidZone is completely free and extremely easy to use. Just download the free VidZone application from PlayStationStore, find it under the ‘music’ icon on your PS3’s XrossMediaBar menu and you’re away. You don’t have to watch somebody else’s choice of music – you’re in complete control here. Select single videos to watch on their own – with the option of rewinding and fast-forwarding – or create your own library of streaming music and make custom playlists for every occasion. Whether you want a playlist for a living-room workout or a house party – or whether you just want to check out your favourite musician’s dance moves or guitar fretwork – VidZone gives you all the options and puts you in complete control. You can even create a playlist via PSP (PlayStationPortable) and have it waiting for you on PS3 when you get home.

With major music labels on board as well as thousands of independents, you can count on getting the latest videos from the biggest names – including regular exclusives and world premieres. A first glance at a sample VidZone playlist reveals videos from artists including Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, Fatboy Slim, Black Eyed Peas, Glasvegas, Dizzee Rascal, P!nk, Noisettes, Ne-Yo, Armand van Helden, Tori Amos and Akon, among others – but that’s just a few. With 10,000 videos on there and more to come, you’ll find what you’re into.

Set to transform the music video experience, VidZone joins Blu-ray movies, music, digital TV, games and Internet one more reason to make PS3 the centre of your home entertainment experience. Download VidZone from PlayStationStore on June 11th and put yourself in control. Find out more at www.vidzoneps3.com.
