Dragon Age: Origins producer Fernando Melo has said that the RPG will “come of age” a year from now.

“Honestly, looking at Dragon Age as a franchise, that kind of timeframe (a year plus) is really when DA will begin to come of age (if you pardon the pun),” he told D’toid. “As we release more content, I think that is the earliest that players will begin to clearly see all the pieces start to weave together, and that will be incredibly exciting to observe as a developer.

“Plus on a separate but integral path, I am fully expecting that we’ll see the modding community releasing some of their best content by then.

“The Dragon Age toolset and the modding scene for DA will have matured, and that’s something I’m really excited to see the results of.”

Return to Ostagar, the latest DLC for the game, was just released on XBL earlier in the week before it was pulled due to the update stopping specialized classes stopped working in the original game.

It’s expected to be released for PC and PSN “soon”.

There’s also the Awakening expansion to look forward to, which increases the level cap the mid-to-high 30s.

Awakening will land March 16.
