Update: Activision has responded to the March 1 DLC release date with “Activision doesn’t comment on rumors and speculation”.
So there you have it. Guess we’ll just have to wait a bit longer.
Original: Microsoft has revealed that the upcoming Modern Warfare 2 DLC will see a 30-day head start on Xbox 360.
On top of that, a source close to Screw Attack claims that the content will land on the system March 1.
“We have a 30-day timed exclusive on the Modern Warfare content packs,” a MS spokesperson told Eurogamer. “So it will be available on other platforms, but you get to try and play on Xbox 360 first.”
Announced during E3 last year as a timed exclusive, John Schappert said the DLC includes two maps for the game, with Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling confirming in November that the extra content was being worked on, and that it could possibly include more than two maps.
Scheduled for a spring release by IW, a source close to Screw Attack claims that the content will be released on XBL March 1 – which is technically not spring, but it’s close.
We’ll mail Activision about this and see what happens.
