Castlevania: Lords of Shadow producer Dave Cox has said that console comparisons are “bollocks”. See: you can stop fighting now.

Speaking in an interview with VG247 published today, the Konami producer said of the game’s development:

“It’s certainly not about one console being superior to the other.

“This argument is bollocks, frankly; it’s about making the best of what both machines are good at and focussing on that because, believe me, both machines are a challenge to develop on no matter what you are doing.”

He also stressed the importance platform parity in the upcoming reboot, despite PS3 being its lead development platform.

“It is very important to me that no version is inferior,” he stated. “If you develop for Xbox 360 and port to PS3, or indeed vice versa, you can end up with a game that is great on one but lousy on another.”

Cox further added that making a multi-platform title such as Lords of Shadow will have to see “compromises in certain areas right from the get-go.”

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is due out later this year. Madrid-based Mercury Steam is developing, benefited by input from Kojima Productions.

No exact release date has been given.
