D3Publisher has announced that God Eater will be released in North America on PSP this fall.
The Namco developed game first showed up on the US Trademark website back in May, and was later revealed for a Japanese release for early February.
So far, the reception to the demo in Japan has been high, as it’s been downloaded over 1.5 million times.
God Eater is an RPG that depicts the struggle of divine creatures called Aragami and the God Eaters who seek destroy them. Your job is to convert the Aragami to your side, through more than 100 missions.
Players can also change their game strategy at any time by instantly switching between weapon forms to slash, shoot, and devour gigantic enemies and “customize bullets to alter the strength, pattern and elemental type for super powerful attacks”.
The game has co-op modes where you can hunt with the AI or with up to four players with adhocParty.
“The anticipation for God Eater in Japan has been tremendous with more than 1.5 million downloads of the demo,” said Pete Andrew, D3’s VP of product development, in the press release. “God Eater offers high-speed, stylized action mixed with a deep dramatic storyline that makes it uniquely different from its competitors and we look forward to bringing this title to gamers in North America.”
It’s expected to hit the US during Q3.
