Warner Bros. has told VG247 that Batman: Arkham Asylum 2’s release date is “not October,” following what looks to be a slip up on the company’s German site.
Earlier this afternoon, Warner’s German site published a supposed October 2010 date for the Rocksteady sequel. Bottom line: it’s not true.
“The ‘German web site tags Arkham Asylum 2 for October’ story is based on inaccurate information on the German Warner site,” said a rep in an emailed statement.
“That information was taken down a couple of hours ago, accordingly.
“We haven’t announced a release date for the sequel to Batman Arkham Asylum yet and I’ll let you know as soon as we have any news.”
Speaking on the phone, the spokesman said the sequel’s release date is “not October”.
The game was revealed at the VGAs back in December, with a teaser trailer indicating Arkham has been moved inside Gotham City itself.
Since then, other then Warner taking over as publisher from Eidos, nothing has been mentioned on the sequel, although a Game of the Year version of the original has been listed.
