PAX East will move to a much larger venue after its just-finished inaugural show, after twice as many attendees visited than expected.

Over 60,000 visitors turned up at the Boston event, meaning next year’s show will take place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, not the Hynes Convention Center.

Penny Arcade’s Mike Krahulik told Joystiq, “We had assumed we would be in [the Hynes] for what? Three years, I think? That was our initial idea. And already this will be our only year here. We have to move it next year.”

Good stuff, crazy American people. Dear publishers: announce some games there. End.
