Crackdown 2’s been rated by the ESRB, also outing some of the gory details behind the Ruffian sequel.
The game, which has been given an M for Mature rating, will feature a news presenter getting mauled on air by a Freek, while a soldier attempts to stop a helicopter by getting his arm cut off by the rotor blades. Lovely.
The full rating, as so:
“This is a third-person shooter in which players assume the role of a special agent sent to eradicate a city of mutant-infected humans known as “Freaks.” Players shoot the humanoid creatures by launching rockets, tossing shrapnel grenades, and shooting at them, leaving behind piles of bloody bodies that sometimes burst apart or catch on fire. Some cutscenes depict innocent civilians being attack by the creatures, such as a news reporter being mauled on live TV. In one scene, a soldier jumps into spinning helicopter blades to stop the aircraft; his severed arm is flung across the screen along with other bloody chunks. Additionally, characters often use language such as “f**k,” sh*t,” and “a*s” within the game.”
Go get pumped anyways, Agents. You can’t miss this one by any stretch.
Crackdown 2’s out on July 9 on Xbox 360 in the UK.
