Industry legend Ian Livingstone has been handed the British Inspiration Award in the videogame sector, beating out Rockstar’s Sam Houser, along with Codemasters co-founders David and Richard Darling in the process.
The Inspiration Awards were creation by Nintendo UK GM, David Yarnton, and awards are handed out to entertainment, art and science luminaries in the UK.
Lvingstone co-founded tabletop gaming company Games Workshop in 1975, and has been with Eidos for a very long while as well.
He was promoted to life president when Square purchased the company last year.
This isn’t the first time Livingstone has been handed a rather nice award, as in 2006 he was awarded the Order of the British Empire for his contributions to the industry.
In 2002 he won the Gift of the Academy at the BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Awards for outstanding contribution to the community.
