Take-Two VP Alan Lewis has said that the company plans to continue  creating original IP, but it requires “ample time to make something great”.

Speaking in an interview with Gamasutra, Lewis used Red Dead Redemption as an example of the time it takes to create a quality title.

“The title had moved, as people know, and I think if you look at the quality of the game and what it’s doing in the market, it illustrates that to make a great game, sometimes you need to give the developers ample time to make something great,” he said.

While the company is keen to allow its developers time to create games, it doesn’t want to keep reusing the same IP’s over again; therefore, it’s going to try being more diverse in this area.

“Every year, we’re going to try to introduce at least one new IP that we hope over the long term will work well for us,” said Lewis.

By doing this the publisher hopes it will keep both its fans and investors happy.

Red Dead Redemption arrived last month, and has dominated the UK charts every week since release.
