Ubisoft announced an Assassin’s Creed comic book mini-series today, which is currently in development and due for release this fall.

Developed through UbiWorkshop by illustrators Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl, the comic mini-series will be unveiled during a Comic Con panel on July 22.

The panel entitled “Assassin’s Creed: Behind and Beyond the Brotherhood”, will include details on the comic series as well as Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

Featured panelists include Stewart and Kerschl, along with Jeffrey Johalem, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood’s scriptwriter.

To research the comic series, Stewart and Kerschl visited Saint Petersburg, Russia which along with the video posted below, should give folks an idea of where and when the series takes place.

“We always thought that the Assassin’s Creed universe would be perfect for transmedia initiatives like this new comic series,” said Mathieu Ferland, transmedia senior producer at Ubisoft Montreal in the press release.

“We are excited to have the fantastic and acclaimed artists Cameron Stewart and Karl Kerschl working on the project. Ubisoft is looking forward to showing Assassin’s Creed fans what these talented artists have been up to at next week’s Comic-Con panel.”

UbiWorkshop is also still accepting illustrations for the Carte Blanche section of its artbook, should you be interested.

More information on the mini-series is expected at Comic Con.
