Final Fantasy XIV producer Hiromichi Tanaka has told JeuxVideo that “technical problems” are holding up the MMO’s PS3 version.
“We understand the wrath of players, and developers are sorry because they did everything they could to have a simultaneous release date,” said Tanaka, “but unfortunately they have encountered many technical problems on the development of the game for PS3. We strive to release the game as soon as possible.
“If possible, we would publish the game sooner,” he added. “We would like to start as soon as possible the beta on PS3.”
Square Enix recently delayed the PS3 version into March 2011. The game was previously due this year.
PC owners, however, will get it in late September worldwide, with a special limited edition releasing in Europe the week before.
Square sent along word today in a newsletter that the game is now available to pre-order.
Thanks, PSLS.
