StarCraft 2 has been out for a little over 24 hours now, and those playing it have reported an arcade mini-game known as Lost Viking in it.
Blizzard hinted a mini-game would be in SCII, so while the inclusion of one is not news, what the mini-game turned out to be is a pleasant surprise.
Those familiar with the developer’s work will recognize the homage to 1992’s The Lost Vikings, through an arcade machine located on Jim Raynor’s ship you can play.
According to Joystiq (via IGN) the “puzzle-platforming of the original title has been swapped out for a much more thematically appropriate top-down shoot-em-up” – which still sounds good to us.
There’s a video of it below.
On another StarCarft II related nugget, the game’s soundtrack has been released on iTunes.
So, if you decided against buying the Collector’s Edition of the game, which included said soundtrack, you can plop down a tenner and get it through the Apple music service instead, or buy the tracks individually for one bill each.
StarCraft II launched yesterday, ya know, just in case you were kidnapped, imprisoned, or hiding out in the Maldives or something.
