Codemasters has formally lifted the cover off DiRT 3 in the latest issue of Edge, with chief game designer Matt Horsman saying it’ll be “the biggest rally game ever made.”
The game will be rid of the festival setting that was the background to DiRT 2, to begin with.
Codies has also promised a new career mode for the racer, which sees you as a privateer that drives in cars from the 1990s, with a mix of modern, classic and legendary cars will also grace the game, as well as RAID trucks and super buggies.
A new combo system has been included that analyses how close the car your driving is to obstacles before it totals your scoring for it
Some locations included for the game include Monaco, Norway, Aspen and the plains of Africa, probably to name a few, with more then 100 routes planned.
Party modes included for DiRT 3 include Outbreak, Cat ‘n’ Mouse, Goldrush and Transporter.
YouTube support is also promised, with the game allowing you to edit your replays and upload them to the site.
The first trailer was revealed yesterday. Get it here.
DiRT 3 launches next year.
Thanks, Eurogamer.
