Splash Damage has put out a developer diary for Brink, this one talking up the shooter’s art style.
The dev team talks about how it wanted to make the game “super photo-realistic” at first, but decided against it because it has already been done “a thousand times before”.
Instead, it decided to make it an “ultra-realistic toon-style” game, once senior programmer Oliver Jauncey came on board.
According to Jauncey, Splash Damage was a cautious regarding the art direction, but eventually relented.
Brink, set in a near future civil war aboard a floating city, releases next spring for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Thanks, Evil Avatar.
