SEGA has officially unveiled Super Monkey Ball for Nintendo 3DS, and has it primed for release in 2011.

The firm also stated it has five more planned for release on 3DS by March 31, 2012 – one of which is a Sonic game mentioned at E3 along with Super Monkey Ball.

Since the company didn’t provide details on the new Sonic game, we’ll give you some information on Super Monkey Ball instead.

The game promised to offer a “whole new level of interactivity and fun, whilst completely immersing you in the world of your favorite monkeys”. These monkeys are: AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon and Baby.

“The moment I saw the features of the Nintendo 3DS, I could not help thinking how perfectly Super Monkey Ball would work on this new hardware,” said the franchise’s creator and developer Toshiro Nagoshi in the press release.

“I could quickly picture myself holding the Nintendo 3DS using the motion sensor and playing Super Monkey Ball. The simple gameplay allows players to enjoy the 3D graphics to the fullest and now that we have brought this vision to life…bingo! We have our all-time favorite Super Monkey Ball experience with the new excitement of the Nintendo 3DS.”

The game will include three brand-new gameplay choices including single-player puzzle levels, Monkey Race and Monkey Fight with the ability to compete via wireless connection with up to four players.

In addition, Super Monkey Ball fans will be able to choose between the Nintendo 3DS motion sensor or the Slide Pad to navigate the puzzle mazes.
