Final Fantasy Versus XIII director Tetsuya Nomura has said the game’s “being developed specifically for the PlayStation 3,” and if there was a multi-plat version it would be a port.
“Multi-platform is when you start development on a game with the assumption of optimizing for multiple platforms,” he tweeted.
“Porting is something that’s done after you’ve developed a game specifically for a particular platforms. The debate over porting is decided by the management based off the current market and the costs. All I can say right now as a developer is that Versus is being developed specifically for the PlayStation 3.”
The game will get a small showing at TGS next week.
Square has continuously said Versus XIII is “For PLAYSTATION 3 Only Worldwide” in trailers.
A 360 version has been constantly rumoured, however.
It was announced this morning by Square Enix that Versus’s big brother, Final Fantasy XIII, was coming to Xbox 360 for Japan in December, nearly a year after being released as a PS3-exclusive in the country.
The game’s 360 version came out day and date with the PS3 version here in Europe and America.
Thanks, Andriasang.
