6 Insanely Ridiculous Halloween Laws

C.J. Arabia

Halloween is a time of tricks and treats and city officials have gone to some extreme measures to rain on your Halloween fun. Here are the 6 stupidest Halloween laws on the books.

If you live in Walnut Creek California you'll need a permit if you want to wear a mask to go trick-or-treating. The law reads, "No person shall wear a mask or disguise on a public street without a permit from the sheriff." I wonder how many permits they issue every year?

In Bellville, Missouri you may not be able to go trick-or-treating at all. The Mayor signed an ordinance banning persons past the 8th grade from asking for candy in public. "We believe that Halloween is for little children," the Mayor told the St. Louis Post Dispatch. I think we all know whose house to toilet paper in Bellville, Misouri.

This year kids in Rehoboth, Delaware can't even celebrate Halloween ON HALLOWEEN. "If October 31st shall be a Sunday, such going from door to door and house to house for treets shall take place on the evening of October 30th between the hours of 6 - 8pm." 6 and 8 pm? What tha?

If you live in Dublin, Georgia you won't be able to go as The Blues Brothers on Halloween because it is unlawful for any person over the age of 16 to appear on public streets wearing a mask, sunglasses, hood or any "regalia such manner as to concel his or her identity." Your face has to be fully visible and recognizable on Halloween.

It’s illegal to dress like a priest on Halloween in Alabama... Section 13A-14-4 says that, "Fraudulently pretending to be clergyman" will get you arrested and fined. How about a pregnant nun? I was a pregnant nun for Halloween back in the day. I guess I would have spent Halloween in jail.

If you live in Hollywood, California (which I do) Silly String is OFF LIMITS from 12am on the 31st to noon on Nov. 1st. The city got sick of cleaning it up every year and passed a law that comes with a $1,000 fine if you're caught with the stuff in your possession. Even if you're not using it. It's illegal to even have it on you. I say we all meet on the corner of Hollywood & Highland at 12 noon on Nov. 1st with cases of silly string and just COVER the streets!

What do you think of these laws? Lame? Do you know of any other crazy Halloween laws? Let us know it the comments.
