A self-described "hard core hip hop band" from Orange County, CA called Imperial Stars blocked traffic on the ever popular 101 freeway in LA during the morning rush hour yesterday, creating havoc and pissing off a lot of hard working Los Angelinos who were trying to get to work.
Check these dudes out! I mean, these guys are awesome. That one on the right looks like Shaun White, and the guy on the left looks like he's from Maroon 5. The middle guy looks like he works at a oil-lube place. And nothing says "hard core" or "hip hop" like floating through the galaxy surrounded by pink laser rings.
The driver pulled the truck up sideways on the freeway near Sunset boulevard, jumped out WITH THE KEYS, and took off in another car, making moving the truck virtually impossible for the police and emergency crews who who were called to the scene. Pretty smart move guys.
Then the musicians climbed on top of the truck and performed their "hit" song "Traffic Jam 101" on top of their huge ugly black panel truck with the band's logo on it, while blocking 3 lanes of traffic. The band was of course arrested, on charges of aggravated douchebaggery... but not before creating a huge traffic jam and drawing the attention of of the National news.
The band says that the publicity stunt was to draw attention to a homeless children's charity. This while bus loads of starving school children, sat trapped in school busses along the 101 freeway.
Unfortunately "Traffic Jam 101" isn't that great of a song.
Not only is the band despised by drivers in Los Angeles, but the press doesn't seem to like them much more. AOL wrote an article titled: Imperial Stars Block 101 Freeway at Rush Hour With Terrible Rap Song. And Gawker wrote: Band Will Be Super Popular for Blocking Freeway to Play Bad Song. So it's safe to assume that this band won't be blowing up the airwaves any time soon... unless they take a radio station hostage as their next stunt. Look out for their next hit, "Bomb Threat At LAX." The video for that should get them a lot of publicity.
So buckle up guys... here is the "OFFICIAL music video" for the never to be hit song "Traffic Jam 101" as performed by the those traffic jammin' Imperial Stars:
This song is hilarious. I don't know what everyone is talking about. I think it's friggin' awesome. What did you think of that hot jam?
