Media Create posted its Japanese hardware figures for the week of October 4 – 10, and it shows most systems down for the week, and DS sales continuing to taper off with Pokemon fever subsiding.

If you combine DS sales figures for the year though, thanks to last week’s figures, the handheld is getting even closer to the coveted 2 million mark for the year.

Between the three SKUs, thre was only a marginal difference of 524 units between sales of DSi and DSi LL, but interest in DS Lite continues to drop has it sold 16,341 units less than DSi.

However, if you look each offering separately,  PSP topped the week with 33,683 units moved – besting its nearest competitor by over 11K units. Even with combined units for the year, the PSP brand is only behind the DS line by 372,279 units.

Christmas should prove to bridge that gap a bit more. We’ll see, though.
