EA’s announced this evening Medal of Honor has sold 1.5 million units in its first five days on sale.

To celebrate, EA’s also confirmed it’s releasing an-all new multiplayer mode on November 2 called “Clean Sweep”, an elimination mode where players “must rely on their own skill and teammates’ expertise to prevail as the winning team.”

There’ll be two new maps also released to play the mode, known as Bagram Hangar and Khyber Caves.

The new content will be available for free if you redeemed your Online Pass that you got with the game.

“Medal of Honor is one of EA’s most storied franchises and we’re thrilled to see that fans worldwide have embraced it,” said EA Games boss Frank Gibeau.

“In this ultra competitive category, Medal of Honor stands out from the pack. By portraying the Tier 1 Operator as so elite, so tough, Medal of Honor offers a view into a world that has the power to resonate with FPS gamers everywhere.”

While Steam sales weren’t counted towards the sale totals (with the PC’s share listed at 5%) a look at Steam’s top games by current player count stats for today show Medal of Honor multiplayer sitting at the 20th spot. Its “peak” number of players online today – 3246. Top spot is Counter-Strike: Source with 68,200.
