Sony Online Entertainment will release its free-to-play MMO Free Realms on Mac this fall thanks to the help of TransGaming.

While all the love towards Mac users lately is a good thing, when it comes to Free Realms, PS3 users have been wondering when they’re going to get their long-delayed version.

According to SOE’s Taina Rodriguez, Mac owners will see the title before PS3 users.

“Free Realms is still definitely coming to PS3,” said Rodriquez. “We haven’t announced a release date, but Free Realms for PS3 will be coming soon. The development team has been working to optimize play experience on both the Mac and Ps3 versions.”

There’ already millions of players in the game on PC, one would think Sony would be rushing to tap into the popularity on PS3.

But Free Realms isn’t the only MMO for the console that’s been delayed. There’s DC Universe Online which was actually delayed for both PC and PS3 recently, but still, a delay is a delay.

Then, there’s Final Fantasy XIV which was delayed into March 2011 on the system due to “memory” issues.

Finally, there’s The Agency which we’ve heard next to nothing on for ages. It was absent from Sony’s E3 press conference, and last year its release date was pushed into 2010.

If all these MMOs are to be released on PS3 in 2011, fans of the genre have loads to look forward to next year. But still, that’s a long wait for a game type that’s been promised for ages.
