SEGA has said there will be fewer cuts made to Yakuza 4 when it’s localized for the west.

Good news for those who were upset over cuts made to Yakuza 3.

Speaking with Kotaku, SEGA community manager Aaron Webber told the site that hostesses and the clubs which employ them will be back, as well as Mah-Jong and all the game’s side-quests.

The part of Yakuza 4 which will definitely be getting the axe again is the interactive Japanese trivia show Answer X Answer, and not because it’s considered too Japanese for western gamers, but because of the mini-game’s 16-bit-style graphics.

According to SEGA, the amount of work involved in reworking the text for the mini-game would cause the game to miss its spring 2011 release, which Webber said was more important.

Yakuza 4 has been out in Japan since March, and the fifth installment with zombies is currently in development.
