There’s nothing that will make you feel like you’re living in the real world more than watching a TV show or movie that centers on High School. The teachers, always picture perfect in their attractiveness and their hipper-than-thou way of connecting with the young students are a far cry from my gray-haired and incredibly nerdy Math teacher. Luckily, we’ll always have a movie, or a teenage centered TV show that we can live vicariously through. I’ve done all the work for you in gathering the most drool-worthy, dreamy people that you wouldn’t mind getting sent to detention by.
10. Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis)
Sure, “The Vampire Diaries” has some of the hotter members of young Hollywood collected in a steamy fantasy world in primetime, but the kids don’t always get to have all the fun (or hotness). Just imagine how distracting and stressful High School is normally, and then add the fact that vampires live in your community in the mix - throwing a hot teacher in the cast to command the class’ attention wasn’t just gratuitous, but it was essential (okay but maybe also a little bit gratuitous, either way - I’m not complaining).
9. Gilderoy Lockhart (Kenneth Branagh)
I know that I dropped Lockhart’s name in last week’s Sexy Wizards post, but it’s worth an encore. I’m not sure if it was a level 5 love curse that he held on the Wizarding World when he was in the Defense Against the Dark Arts position at Hogwarts for that brief year, but he captured the eye and hearts of just about everyone he encountered - myself included. With a smile worthy of a toothpaste commercial and a sophisticated charm that could turn anyone into a straight-A student, he’s definitely won a place on this list as well as in my heart.
8. Mark Cyr (Jason Ritter)
The first season of “Parenthood” brought on many things: tantrums, diapers, family fights but also many, many cute boys (and men). Mr. Cyr was Amber Holt’s first crush at her new school and (spoiler alert) her Mother’s as well, and for good reason! Jason Ritter as Mark Cyr is dreamy, sensitive, funny and encouraging of Amber’s academic success - can you think of anything more heartwarming?
7. Ezra Fitz (Ian Harding)
“Pretty Little Liars” follows a similar rule of teacher hotness that 90210 has established, not skimping on the sex appeal from the adult side of the spectrum (and God bless them for it). Mr. Fitz’s boylike charm matched against his intelligence and wisdom makes him the best of both worlds, now if only I could stop doodling “Mrs. Ezra Fitz” all over my notebook long enough to actually learn something in his class.
6. Ryan Matthew (Ryan Eggold)
Of course given the concentrated hotness that the entire cast of “90210” poses to the earth, the producers and writers of the teen series knew they had to find an equally hot teacher to counteract their attractiveness. They scored big with Ryan Eggold who plays Mr. Matthew with a suavity that’ll hold any class’ attention.
5. Max Medina (Scott Cohen)
There have been many dreamboats that have traveled their way through the small town of Stars Hollow in WB’s “Gilmore Girls” but none could be steamier than the first adult stud Mr. Medina. It didn’t take Lorelai Gillmore long before she fell head over heels for this sexy molder of young minds, and who could blame her? I could listen to him recite Shakespeare all day.
4. Sam Coulson (Michael Vartan)
Let’s take a trip back to 1999 and revisit the fact that Mr. Coulson is still the hunkiest English teacher I’ve ever seen in real life or in fiction, ever. Intelligent, inventive, and sensitive to understanding the vulnerability that existed in the character of Josie Geller, he’s pretty much my ideal man.
3. Jonathan Ames (Jason Schwartzman)
In HBO’s “Bored to Death,” it’s clear that Jonathan’s teaching methods may be slightly unethical, but that just adds to his offbeat attractiveness. Schwartzman plays Ames with a childlike curiosity mixed with a fearlessness few can possess; he’s got ambition and gumption, two of the most attractive characteristics known to man.
2. Ben (Jimmy Fallon)
Right off the bat it’s easy to see that Ben’s math class is by far the coolest course to score enrollment to. Not only do they get to go on field trips to a place of business where Drew Barrymore works in, but they seem to carry on a rapport with him that’s more “encouraging older brother” than teacher; the fact that he’s super cute and quirky doesn’t hurt, either.
1. Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison)
Besides the songs in their hearts, I doubt any student at McKinley High would find motivation to join the Glee club if it weren’t for its super dreamy leader. Say what you want about his dated selection of songs he pulls from episode to episode, or his extensive collection of vests, he’s definitely got my vote for dreamiest musical teacher, ever.
He'll have you screaming, "I'm hot for teacher!"
