We live in a great time for sexy fantasy folk. Vampires, Werewolves, Telepaths, they’re all represented through out our current popular films and TV shows and one thing most of them seem to have in common is their sizzability. Most of you may disagree with me, but if I were giving out awards for “Largest Supply of Desirable Wizards in A Single Franchise” I would hand it over to Harry Potter and his crew of sexy sorcerers and sorceresses. Here’s a collection of some of the wizards who have consistently raised the bar for crushability.
1. Harry Potter
It should come as no surprise that the leader of the Wizarding pack is also the dreamiest. Through out the various film installments it became a fun added bonus to track the rising sexiness of the film’s lead star, accentuated more by the fact that he always managed to keep his cool in the face of danger. Daniel Radcliffe didn’t have to get massive abs on the side to play the boy wizard, but it most certainly didn’t hurt audiences falling in love with him for it.
2. Hermione Granger
Hermione proves that beauty and brains are an undeniably attractive combination. Never afraid to let her intelligence show, she soon captured the hearts of boys and the admiration of girls around the globe with her elegance, grace, and uninhibited way of kicking some serious Voldemort ass.
3. Cedric Diggory
Robert Pattinson proves his supernatural sexiness by intercepting not one, but two major fantastical movie franchises. He doesn’t disappoint as Cedric, the Hogwarts class stud who was everything you could ask for in a Wizard. I’m gonna be real with you, when I watch “Twilight” I just imagine Rob as Cedric in a spin-off. Don’t hate me.
4. Ron Weasley
Ron’s sexiness defies basic social standards. The geeky, awkward boy isn’t supposed to snare the eyes of girls around the world, but somehow Rupert Grint as the gawky ginger wizard seems to defy those conventions. Some have speculated that it’s his goofy charm, or that quite possibly it’s his loyalty as a friend. Either way, he’s definitely someone that I would want on my side in a fight (or arm for a date).
5. Draco Malfoy
Don’t pretend that the bad boy thing doesn’t still have a tremendous appeal, because it totally does and works for Malfoy’s heaps and heaps of fans around the world. Despite the fact that Malfoy constantly pushes forward on world domination by way of Voldemort, you can always see a moment of goofiness, of unsurety, a humanizing vulnerability that makes me just want give him a pat on the back, a hug and a “Go get ‘em, Tiger.” Sure, he’d probably zap me with his wand or call me a no good muggle, but he’d probably look hot while doing it and that’s good enough for me.
6. Fred and George Weasley
JK Rowling gave us a gift: and that was the gift of a double dose of cuteness in the form of twin brothers Fred and George Weasley. These guys represent the funny troublemakers in the back of every class, the guys that were always one step ahead of the teacher and you marveled at their ability to always make you laugh. The fact that there’s two of them to go around just makes our romantic chance of getting together that much more possible.
7. Cho Chang
Cho Chang is so hot that she’s become a unit of measurement for sexiness. “What about that girl?” “Nah, that chick’s way more of a Lavender Brown than a Cho Chang.” “Ah, so true so true. What about Hermione Granger?” “Yeah, I’d say she’s halfway between Lavender and Hermione.” And then they fist pound.
8. Gilderoy Lockhart
This one’s for all of the Harry Potter loving Moms and the girls who aren’t afraid to admit their teacher is cute. Gilderoy, before he was uncovered as a fake and a phony was the George Clooney of the wizarding world and for good reason - he had a great smile, great eyes and was always a classy dresser. I don’t know about you, but if I were taking his Defense Against the Dark Arts class, I would never be able to pay attention.
9. Viktor Krum
Be honest: did anyone blame Hermione for going with Viktor Krum to the Hogwarts dance? He’s a Quidditch star, super buff; and though a bit reserved and shy, makes up for it in his studliness. I would be his ringside Quidditch supporter any day.
10. Ginny Weasley
Some may say that Ginny’s too much of a “Vanilla” to be considered hot, she’s too “beige” to attract the gaze of the opposite sex but here are the facts: She’s feisty (a definite hot factor), she’s brave (increasingly hot) and she snagged Harry Potter (on fire).
Which would you rather?
