Spike TV and Philo have teamed up for the Video Game Awards for tonight’s broadcast so that you can check in with your friends while watching the show.
Basically, Philo is Foursquare for TV shows, which tells folks what you are watching instead of where you are. Less stalking that way, ya know, and it also shows how cool you are because you watch The Walking Dead – as just an example.
For tonight, Philo and Spike have created World Exclusive Premiere Badges tied to some of the 13 premieres of games slated for 2011 and beyond. Users can check-in with their Androids or iPhones on the apps landing page.
In addition, Philo is also giving away a Kinect prize pack and other exclusive VGA gear, so you may want to sign up in case you win.
During tonight’s broadcast, viewers can also chat live with their social media friends and followers.
Sounds like fun actually. Too bad our mobile phone doesn’t have Apps, despite being a “smartphone”. Not so smart then is it?
