LEGO Universe studio Gazillion Entertainment has announced it has promoted ex-Blizzard North president David Brevik to president and COO.
Brevik previously served as the firm’s project leader and studio head on its Marvel Universe game. While at Blizzard, Brevik was project lead, design lead and lead programmer on both Diablo and Diablo II and he also engineered and launched Battle.Net.
Jeff Lind has been named vice president of Gazillion and studio head for Secret Identity (formerly Gargantuan), the studio developing Marvel Universe. Prior to joining Gazillion, Jeff was a Director of Development for several projects at EA as well as the director of engineering for Turbine West. He was most recently the senior development director of Marvel Universe.
Gazillion also recently added Dan Fiden to its executive team as VP of publishing. Fiden will be “driving the company’s focus on digital development and distribution”. Dan h was previously the managing producer for game development at EA’s Pogo division and most recently general manager of Playfish San Francisco.
“Gazillion is committed to developing top-tier online games,” said Mr. Brevik. “The future will be defined by console quality games in the web browser, and we believe we can make this a reality today.”
The studio is currently developing Jumpgate Evolution, a remake of its first MMO, as well as an original IP.
