According to Bioware’s Chris Priestly, the demo for Mass Effect 2 on PS3 used a two month-old build of the game’s engine – so put away the pitchforks, PS fans.
It was revealed last year that the PS3 version of the game is actually using the new Mass Effect 3 engine, however people were left a little deflated after seeing the demo in action.
It seems though there was no need to panic, as explained by Priestly on the PlayStation Blog: “The demo was, for certification and testing reasons, about a two month older build than the final ‘what you will play when you get it home’ version. I think you’ll see that the game is noticeably better at launch.”
Mass Effect 2 for PS3 releases in North America on January 18, with the UK version following on January 21.
Thanks , Ripten.
