Rupert Grint is a great actor, with a lot of range. He's capable of playing everything from an eleven year old apprentice wizard, all the way to a seventeen or eighteen year old apprentice wizard. There are, however, some roles that will likely be perpetually out of his reach. Here are just a few:
1. Knight from KNIGHT & DAY
Rupert's been described as "Tom Cruise, if Tom Cruise was a thin, bookish young wizard who scores wizard chicks that are way out of his league." Also, Rupert is normally in movies that people actually see...
2. Jigsaw
Though Rupert is quite capable of pulling off a bow tie, he's not particularly believe as a serial killer that makes people swallow keys and then open up their stomachs to get to the keys if they want to live.
3. Black Swan
If it were the role of the White Swan, Rupert would have already gotten it, but does Rupert have the chaos, the darkness in his heart to play the Black Swan? Do people want to see him make out with Mila Kunis? Unless their name is Rupert Grint, NO.
4. Freddy Krueger
Rupert would make a great Freddy Krueger, the only problem is that he's always forgetting he's wearing knife gloves when he goes to the bathroom.
5. Edward Cullen
He's definitively sexy enough, as evidenced by this in-no-way photoshopped image of a screen test he did for the role. The real problem is that Robert Pattinson's skin naturally sparkles, saving the producers hundreds of thousands of dollars in sparkle cost.
6. RoboCop
Rupert Grint would technically make a great Robocop, because his day job is taking the law into his own hands. But he's allergic to aluminum, so he can't get into the suit to play Robocop, which is too bad, because Rupert's reading of RoboCop's soliloquiy when RoboCop realizes he is no longer human so he can't be a husband to his wife is, to say the least, haunting.
What other roles wouldn't be the best idea for Rupert Grint to play? Let us know in the comments!
