Bieber Movie Gets Marketing Push... From Jesus

You think Justin Bieber is just a teen singer? He has some spiritual help. Bieber's professed faith is on grand display in the new 3-D concert film/documentary Justin Bieber: Never Say Never, which hits theaters Friday (Feb. 11).

It seems that Paramount Pictures has been screening the movie for religious leaders across the country and have even distributed spiritual discussion guides - these are pretty much the same tools they used on films like The Passion of the Christ and The Blind Side to promote them as family friendly faith programming.

Paramount suggests that the film "provides an opportunity to teach our children about the power of hope, prayer, faith and family."

"People will walk away (from the movie) knowing faith is very important to him," says Scooter Braun, who is Bieber's manager and one of the film's producers. "As a Christian, he's someone to look up to. ... When (fans) are getting the real person is when they can connect to that person."

God has called Bieber... to be famous.

Bieber's faith has never been a secret. I mean he was singing Christian songs on YouTube before he was even famous. His mom, Pattie Mallette, who is a big time born-again Christian shares her faith on Twitter all the time, tweeting Bible verses with her hundreds of thousands of followers.

Does this post by Bieber's mom make anyone else hungry and thirsty?

Love him or hate him, the kid came out of nowhere and is now a top-selling recording artists, selling out major amphitheaters across the country and around the world. Being famous has just given him a bigger audience to share his love of the baby Jesus with. He talks about his faith in his autobiography, First Step 2 Forever: My Story.

Does Bieber actually need glasses? Or are those fashion frames? Only God knows.

In his single "Pray" the Biebs sings "I close my eyes and pray / I close my eyes and I can see a better day."

The song ends with the written message, "God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer." I suggest that listening to Bieber's music is the beginning of a headache.

Stars share their religious beliefs for various reasons... I wonder why Bieber shares his? Perhaps to cash in on the Christian market and reach out to an even larger audience? Regardless of his reasons Bieber definitely wants Christians to know that he is "one of them".

What do you think about celebrities using their fame to pump their religious views? Is it just a marketing ploy to reach an even larger audience? I mean, is it cool? Or lame or what? We'd like to know what your thoughts are in the comments below.
