During Namco’s recent press event, Saber Interactive showed some gameplay for its sci-fi shooter Inversion and provided more details regarding the game’s zero gravity sections.
In the game, you play as William Bishop who must fight aliens using gravity as a weapon against Earth. These aliens also killed your wife and caused your daughter to go missing.
According to IGN, which was at the press event, the game’s focus is on these zero gravity section, where you’ll have to fight off enemies while floating around. There will be “anomalies or bubbles,” in the area though, which contain normal gravity.
Weapons in the game include a “grav link,” which is similar to Dead Space’s telekinesis power. You will use this to create anomalies, disarm enemies, and also lifet them in the air or bring them towards you to pull of different battle maneuvers.
Controls are reportedly pretty standard for a third-person shooter, and allow you to hold two guns, throw grenades, and take cover – which is destructible, so choose a spot wisely.
Announced back in 2009 and originally slated for release in 2010, the game is now slated for a February 2012 launch on PS3 and Xbox 360.
