Japanese hardware and software charts Jan 31 – Feb. 6- PSP and Ace Attorney Investigations 2 top charts
Media Create released the hardware and software sales figures for Japan earlier in the week, and while PSP reigned supreme on the hardware side, game debuts stole the top four slots on the software charts.
Debuts couldn’t speed up a slow week
As mentioned above, the top four spots on the software chart were dominated by new releases for the week of January 31 through February 6. Ace Attorney Investigations 2 sold over 130,000 units, which was around twice that of the other high charting debut for the week, Macross Triangle Frontier.
White Knight Chronicles Portable was also a new offering for the week, and moved 40,603 units, Dragon Ball Kai debuted at number four with 31,108 units sold, and rounding out the top five was Kenka Bancho 5 which moved another 28,000 units its second week of release.
All in all, it was a rather slow week for software sales.

Sony claims the top two spots on hardware chart
PSP maintained the top spot for the week, despite the debut of the Ace Attorney sequel on DS, and sitting in second place was PS3 but without and game’s debits for the period, continued sales of Dragon Age and Winning Eleven 2011 seemed can be just one explanation.
Wii was in third place again this week, while DS sales continued a slow decline what with 3DS set to launch in Japan at the end of the month.
Sales of Xbox 360 down by 1,231 unites over the week prior.
