Lindsay Lohan seems to spend more time walking into court than she does walking the red carpet these days...
Lindsay appeared in court yet again to defiantly announce that she is NOT going to cop a plea in the case of the stolen necklace - but the judge was none too pleased and had some harsh words for Lohan.
"This case does involve jail time, period," Judge Schwartz told Lohan. "If you plead in front of me, you are going to jail. Period. There may be an issue with amount of time, and that is why a judge has discretion. You will be going to jail."
Lindsay shows the judge how she use to look when she was high.
If the case goes to trial and she's found guilty (which many experts predict WILL happen) she faces a lot more jail time than she would if she cops the plea, so the Judge has given her a little more time to reconsider extending it up until March 10 for her to accept a plea bargain.
Which she really might want to do. Breaking news this morning is that law enforcement officers close to the case say that the video clearly shows a "distraction crime." Lohan is shopping with a male companion who obviously distracts the clerk while Lohan removes the necklace she wore into the store and replaces it with the gold necklace that she is now being accused of stealing and was then photographed all over town wearing.
The video seems to show a clear intent to steal the necklace. So basically Lindsay is screwed and she has nobody to blame but herself. If this case goes to trail it's going to be really hard to convince a jury that she thought she was borrowing the necklace when her companion is distracting the clerk and she is clearly seen walking out of the store with the stolen jewelry. It's all on video.
Speaking of video - check out this funny video of Lindsay in court from the Tonight Show - it cracked me up.
Should Lohan accept the plea deal? Do you want to see her go to jail? Do you think she meant to steal the necklace? Let's discuss in the comments below.
