Nintendogs + Cats website updated with a list of breeds for each game, videos

By Stephany Nunneley

Nintendo has launched the Japanese website for Nintendogs + Cats with commercials and the like, but most importantly it provides a list of the breeds of dogs each game will contain.

Each one has nine breeds to choose from, which each breed being provided varying coat color and body type. The full set of 27 doggie-poos can be unlocked through continuing play or through StreetPass.

Cat breeds have three types along with the same sort of variations. We can’t read Japanese, but the first one shown looks like your standard American Shorthair, the second one is either a Chocolate Point Siamese – the kind with an apple head – or a Tonkinese, and the last one is a Persian.

As you play the game, you will earn the ability to rear kittens and can select from different fur patterns. Your kitties will take naps on windowsills and between book cases, use their claws, and climb scratching posts.

Cats will do their own thing, just like in real life, and you can even have three puppies or “kittehs” running around in the room at the same time.

Sounds like our house. Where’s our royalty check Miyamoto?

Here’s the list of dog breeds for each game below, as well as pictures. There’s a couple videos there as well.

The game’s slated as a launch release for 3DS.
