Lewie’s Weekly Deals – Skyrim, The Witcher II, 3DS, Fallout: New Vegas

By LewieP

It’s Lewie’s Weekly Deals, where I refer to myself in the third person and tell you which cheap games are worth your attention. Lots of great value preorder deals this week, ideal if you like planning ahead. For updates on what games are cheap throughout the week, beek sure to check out SavyGamer.co.uk. Are you sitting comfortably? Then we’ll begin.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings [Premium Edition], PC, £22.98 delivered
To get this price, you have to use the coupon “3OFFHMV25”, but for that to work, you need to spend £25 or more, and The Witcher 2 is £24.99. The solution is to buy something else at the same time as you order this, but if there is nothing else you want, you can order this probably rubbish 99p CD by that guy off Sesame Street. If you get that and The Witcher 2, your order total will be £22.98. It’s out next month, and this is the best price I have seen anywhere for any version of the game.

Total War: Shogun 2: Total War, PC, £21.85 delivered

A whole £8.14 cheaper than the Steam price for Shogun 2, and the retail copy will register on Steam anyway. Although if you are quick, you might prefer to get the Total War Collection for £39.99, which includes Empire, Medieval 2, Napoleon, Rome and Shogun 2. It is out tomorrow, but Shopto have probably the fastest free shipping I’ve ever experienced from a games retailer.

Fallout: New Vegas, Xbox 360/PS3, £12.85 delivered

It’s from Zavvi, who still have a pretty sketchy record for getting orders to you in a decent timeframe, but this is the best price going on new copies New Vegas. If you don’t mind it preowned, you can get the PS3 version for £10.99 delivered. I quite liked New Vegas, although I played it on the PC, and it’s improved quite a lot since release. How’s the console version these days?

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, PC, £24.99 delivered
Apply coupon “3OFFHMV25”.

Do my eyes tell me lies? A new Elder Scrolls game! Yes, it’s forever and a bit away now, but this is the cheapest preorder going, and the coupon expires soon. We don’t know anything about the DRM yet, but Bethesda used Steamworks for their last release, and that seemed to work well for them. There’s probably a large number of people who are definitely getting this, and you can always cancel if a better price comes up elsewhere between now and release.

Deal of the week
Nintendo 3DS [Blue/Black] & any game‚ £197 collect in store at Tesco.
First you chose which colour console you want, Blue or Black, apply coupon “TDX-KG4T” and order it to be sent to your local store for a total of £187 (or pay an extra fiver for home delivery). Then, next week, Tesco will send you a coupon that will let you buy any of the launch games for just £10, making your total for a 3DS & game £197 at launch. Pretty brilliant offer, although there is still time for someone to best it between now and release. I’ll be watching closely.

Also of note:
Mass Effect, PC, £3.99 delivered

Remember to keep your eye on SavyGamer.co.uk for gaming discounts throughout the week, and you can hassle me on twitter if there’s ever a specific game you’re after for cheap.
