Metacritic starts posting aggregate scores for developers

By Stephany Nunneley

Metacritic has started rating individual developers via a profile page which includes an aggregate score for credited work.

All known credited developers are listed on the site now, and searchable by first and last names. High profile developers such as Randy Pitchford, Cliff Bleszinski, Peter Molyneux, David Jaffe and Richard Garriott each scored 83, 86, 82, 83, and 66, respectively, as an example of the rating process.

According to Gamasutra, Metacritic obtains the data through GameFAQs, and Gama notes that the information obtained through Metacritic’s parent is “far from complete,” as quite few industry vets told the site their “Metacritic page represents only a partial profile of games they’ve shipped.”

Metacritic notes that to keep the developer’s profile up-to-date, one needs to submit any changes or additions to their portfolio to GameFAQ’s.

One multiplayer developer told Gama: “Man, it’s bad enough games are judged by Metacritic. Now I’m going to be, too?”
