Australian Classification Board rates Burnout Crash

By Johnny Cullen

This came from left-field: the Australian Classification Board has rated something known as “Burnout Crash,” whilst LinkedIn CVs point towards a PS3 and 360 release.

The listing appeared on the ratings body’s website on Friday, but not much else is mentioned other than the applicant, publisher and author being EA. The origin of the rating says it comes from the UK, so chances are you’re going to be looking at a Criterion sequel again. We’d be so down with that, for the record.

The rating also mentions it as “multi-platform.” As found by Gamerbytes, one CV on LinkedIn mentions the game for PS3 and 360.

We went digging around LinkedIn for other mentions of the game to no avail. One CV did, however, mention he was “lead designer on an unannounced project” at Criterion.

There hasn’t been a Burnout game since 2008 with the release of Burnout Paradise on PS3, 360 and PC. Since it released, Criterion has been working on DLC support for the game, which has since ceased, as well as last year’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

However, studio boss Alex Ward has tweeted recently it has been presenting the developer’s next game.
