Italy Strikes Back Against Jersey Shore!

C.J. Arabia

Alright so, as we all know the cast of Jersey Shore is going to Italy. Snooki isn't even Italian, she's Chilean... she has ZERO ties to Italy outside of the dudes she sleeps with... but they're going to Italy anyway. Florence to be exact.

Understandably the Mayor of the Florence is concerned about what kind of picture the show is going to paint of his beloved city and has come up with a few rules for the cast and the show to follow if they are going to get permission to shoot the show in Italy... or at least Florence.

Here are the rules that Mayor Matteo Renzi has laid out for the cast and production crew of Jersey Shore...

RULE: The cast will not be filmed in bars and clubs that serve alcohol

I guess they're going to have to throw a lot of house parties.

RULE: The cast will not be filmed drinking in public

I mean that makes sense, since people in Italy don't drink in public... wait, what? Italians have wine with breakfast. I don't get why the cast of Jersey Shore can't drink in public.

RULE: The show will not be filmed to promote Florence as a drinking town

Has he never seen the show? This show is not about promoting locations... they are merely documenting the lives of 8 young fake baked alcoholics with Florence as a backdrop. Trust me, alcoholics from New Jersey aren't going to flock to Italy to trash your town.

RULE: The show should be filmed in a manner to promote Italy (not Americans visiting Italy) and feature its culture and good food

I can't wait to watch the episode where they all go to Ye Old Spaghetti Factory and sit down to a family style Italian meal... and I'm sure it won't end with a drunken food fight.

RULE: MTV's cameras are not allowed in any of the city's historic buildings

Wait, that means we won't get to see footage of The Situation pissing in the Fontana del Nuttuno... and you know that's gonna happen.

So with all of these rules Florence will come off as a sad place where greasy guidos stay home and drink all day long. I don't see any rules about house parties, so I guess this season is going to revolve about kegs of wine in a rented villa.

What do you think of these rules? Do you think the show will be any good if they follow the rules? Do you think they are going to follow the rules? How can the show happen with these rules? I don't get it. Someone explain it to me in the comments below.
