PopCap’s today announced plans to release experimental and even mature games under a new label, 4th and Battery.
According to PopCap’s press release, the new brand will give the company’s game designers “free reign to create smaller, simpler, and sometimes edgier games without the typical constraints of an established global games publisher.”
The games will be released for the PC, Facebook and iPhone platforms.
The first 4th and Battery game has already been announced. It’s called Unpleasant Horse, and it centers on a particularly mean member of the species that sprouts wings and likes to eat small birds. It’s to be released on the App Store later this month.
PopCap said it will release several games from its 4th and Battery brand this year. You can check out a trailer for Unpleasant Horse below.
