Paddy Murphy, CEO of the game development firm Open Emotion, has told IGN that Sony will be doing everything it can to help promote the firm’s game once PSN is back up an running.
According to Murphy, the firm was slated to launch Mad Blocker Alpha last week on the PS Store, but due to the outage, it of course didn’t happen.
“Sony will be helping us retain key focus [prominent placement on the PSN Store] for an extra few weeks as they understand how something like this can affect a small dev studio like ours,” said Murphy. “As it’s our first week in the US, I’m sure it will affect sales, but we have to understand that Sony wouldn’t take down the entire PSN on a whim.
“As long as they can give us some marketing assistance when the PSN is back up, we are sure we will be able to recoup our potential losses.”
A variety of titles were to be made available via PSN last week as well, and while other developers have yet to comment on whether Sony will be offering the same assistance, it’s safe to assume it will be a priority for all affected.
Thanks, Industry Gamers.
