How does the old saying go? Kidnap me once shame on you, kidnap me twice shame on me? Well how about being kidnapped dozens and dozens of times?
Doesn't that start to get a little suspicious? You'd think the princess would at least have installed security cameras or something in her room.
But no, every time she gets taken back by Mario she goes right back to the same bedroom where she got kidnapped last time, and stands by the open window combing her hair like everything's fine. Is she stupid?
No. She's not. The fact is, and I know this will shock some of you, she is secretly cheating on Mario with Bowser.
She has to keep it a secret because in the Mushroom Kingdom Turtle/Human marriage is illegal, and you can face up to a $500,000 fine or 7 years in prison if you are caught.
They keep staging kidnappings so that she and Bowser can be with each other for as long as it takes Mario to cross between 5 and 9 worlds and get her back.
Why do you think at the end of Super Mario Sunshine if you watch past the credits there's that scene where Mario asks the Princess why her bra smells like turtle?
