Take Two’s announced an extension of its NBA deal, which has seen NBA 2K11 sell 5 million units worldwide.

The new deal is a “multi-year” offering, and follows the success of 2K11, which is the most popular NBA 2K title in the series’ 13 year history as well as the best-selling title in 2K Sports’ history.

Take Two says 2K Sports will “explore new NBA licensed gaming opportunities, including online and social media platforms.”

“The top-selling NBA 2K series continues to be a pillar of Take-Two’s foundation for growth,” T2 CEO Strauss Zelnick said on the new deal.

“We’re confident that our renewed partnership with the NBA will extend the unparalleled success of this franchise. We’re thrilled
to be in business with David, Adam and the entire team at the NBA.”

Deputy commissioner of the NBA, Adam Silver, added: “2K Sports provides our fans with an incredible gaming experience, one
that captures both the excitement of our game and the athleticism of our players.

“Coming off a record-breaking year with NBA 2K11, we look forward to continuing our successful partnership.”
