Konami to hold pre-E3 event to “build buzz” ahead of the trade show

By Stephany Nunneley

Konami has announced its plan to hold an a pre-E3 show before the big event in order to get folks hyped for the firm’s upcoming slate.

According to Konami president Shinji Hirano: “The annual E3 show is the world’s marquee video game conference and trade show event that draws a critical mass of gaming enthusiasts from all over the globe. This year, we want to build buzz ahead of E3 by hosting our own pre-E3 show that will tie the viewing party attendees from each city with online viewers through Flickr, Twitter and Facebook.”

The live event will take place on June 2 in Los Angeles, Mexico City, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, and Toronto.

A “select number of journalists, gamers and Konami fans” will be invited, and company announcements, exclusive interviews with developers, and new game trailers will be part of the festivities.

The pre-E3 show will be viewable online through various online sources and gaming outlets, according to the firm.

Here’s hoping its even grander than last year’s E3 event. Honestly, it has some big shoes to fill this year.

Thanks, Erthazus.
