Looks like Lady Gaga has beaten Justin Bieber to the 10 million-follower mark. Making her the first person to ever accumulate so many followers on Twitter and crowning her the undisputed Queen of Twitter... for the moment.

Close Bieber, but no cigar! You did your best and that's all anybody could really ask of you. Nobody can claim that you didn't put up a good fight.

If you look at their Twitter stats it becomes an even more impressive victory considering that Gaga has only tweeted 755 times, compared to Justin who has racked up over 9,000 tweets.

Is there anything that Bieber won't tweet? Even worse than his actual tweets, is the fact that Justin Bieber retweets just about every-friggin-thing that any fan or person tweets to him about anything...

Which may not be a good thing... studies show that having constant access to your favorite celebrities like Bieber and others, makes them actually LESS appealing to fans/followers and also increases the odds that fans will become bored with their favorite celebs.

It is a really big concern to people in the music industry where illusion is key. Musicians create a persona for their fans and blasting your every thought on Twitter and Facebook may be causing some of its biggest and most popular artists to lose their appeal more quickly. People within the music industry are even talking about "restricting access" to certain artists in an attempt to boost their "staying power in popular culture and lengthen their careers."

Although if you ask your average fan, they will say that they are absolutely thrilled to have this kind of 24/7 access to their favorite stars, they need to A) get a life and B) realize that they don't need to know everything about everyone all the time.

Turns out that of the 10 most followed people/accounts on Twitter - 6 of them are music stars like Gaga, Bieber, Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Shakira and Taylor Swift. Which just proves that musicians must have more down time than any other kind of artists out there. Don't these people have any work to do? Songs to record? Charity work they could be doing? Anything?

So what do you think? Are you getting sick of your favorite celebs Tweeting their every thought or are you thrilled to see what's going on in their lives no matter how boring?
