“Leaked” internal Project Café video demo proven fake

A video which appeared on YouTube this week, showing what looks to be an internal demo of Nintendo’s Project Café, three weeks before the console’s grand unveiling in Los Angeles during E3, has proven to be fake.

The video in question, which has been seen approximately 611,000 times, was posted by a French blogsite called Strategy Interactive. The video was a student project, which tasked the students with creating a viral video which would reach a large amount of views in the shortest time possible, reports Nintendo Universe.

As if there were any doubt to its authenticity, Nintendo UK still stated the video released on Wednesday was “purely rumour and speculation”.

The student video showed “tech diagrams” for Project Cafe on-screen with the box sitting below. A lady’s seen talking but there’s no sound. There’s also examples of the rumored touch-screen controller early on in the video.

A guy is seen watching attentively while she points at the screen. You can catch a glimpse of the console multiple times during the video.

Hopefully the students who created it received positive marks from their professor over it.

Nintendo’s next console is scheduled to get an official reveal at E3 this year. The company’s press conference, where the reveal will take place, will happen on June 7.
