Amiga brand resurrected as high-end PCs

By Andrew Groen

US tech company Commodore USA is planning to bring back the Amiga as a new brand of high-end PC. They currently have three different models planned that will be suitable for a range of different users.

The models will be the Amiga 1000, 2000, and 3000. The first of which is described as a smaller scale unit that is “elegant and stylish.” While the 2000 model is far larger. According to Commodore, the 2000 is big enough to hold seven expansion cards, an ATX power supply, ATX motherboard, six hard drives and an optical drive.

The 3000 model seems to be more mid-range with a more modest size and capabilities. Yet Commodore says that it’s “a powerful foundation for all your creative and entertainment needs” and that it will be extensively customizable.

The new Amiga models are being announced just a few months after Commodore USA announced it would be bringing back the Commodore 64 with updated components.
