Analyst sees more diversity in upcoming Acti-Blizz lineup

An analyst with firm Sterne Agee said today that he sees encouraging diversity in the upcoming product lineup from juggernaut publisher Activision Blizzard.

He said that what’s he’s seen alleviates concern that the corporation is relying too heavily on its two major properties, Call of Duty and World of Warcraft.

The analyst, Arvind Bhatia, said he sees potential in Blizzard’s in-progress casual MMO which is currently being prepped for a release in 2014. The project he’s referring to is Titan, Blizzard’s top-secret new MMO that the company is designing to coexist with World of Warcraft.

He also mentioned the upcoming release of Diablo III as well as a new expansion pack for Starcraft 2, dubbed Heart of the Swarm.

Bhatia said that Activision Blizzard’s diversification is important because EA has strong contenders in Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic which he thinks could damage the market share of Call of Duty and World of Warcraft.
