The developer behind the cult 360 horror Deadly Premonition has said that he’s already planning and working on a new project, but that he’s currently searching for a publisher to fund the project.
“It’s high time we started working on something new,” said Swery65, the designer of Deadly Premonition, in a blog post translated by Destructoid.
“However, since the company I work for, Access Games, is only a developer at this point, we focus on creating games. We have to team up with a publisher and create a scheme for the entire process from production to release.
“In other words, the reality of the matter is that I can say I want to make a new game! As much as I want, but that alone is not enough to start the process. Would anyone be ready to invest in us?”
Released in February 2010, Deadly Premonition quickly gained notoriety as one of the most divisive games in recent memory, garnering scores as low as 2/10 and as high as 10/10.
The critical community was so perplexed by the $20 game that even sister sites like IGN and IGN UK couldn’t agree, the former gave it a 2/10 while the latter scored it 7.5/10.
